Job Summary

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will serve as the Company’s primary point of contact for assessing regulatory compliance issues related to residential mortgage loan due diligence reviews, tracking and managing reports on compliance assessments, developing and managing regulatory compliance resources, monitoring legislative developments, formulating compliance solutions, delivering training to operations staff on compliance issues, developing compliance test scripts and working with IT to implement them, and interacting with senior management and outside counsel, under the direction of General Counsel, on regulatory compliance issues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review compliance results from Allonhill’s residential mortgage loan due diligence reviews and evaluate compliance-related exceptions.
  • Participate in communications (both oral and written) with Allonhill clients concerning compliance issues.
  • Monitor, review, and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory developments; communicate changes within the organization.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work with Allonhill General Counsel and Allonhill’s outside counsel on identifying and evaluating the impact and potential resolution of key regulatory compliance issues.   
  • Work with Human Resources and other applicable management to develop or enhance training programs with respect to regulatory compliance issues.
  • Evaluate current compliance testing process to identify deficiencies and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Develop appropriate test scripts to incorporate into the due diligence process.
  • Work with Information Technology on compliance testing enhancements in the due diligence system
  • Develop a comprehensive library of compliance information to be used as a company resource.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of key regulatory compliance areas, especially RESPA, TILA, fair lending, state high-cost loan statutes, and assignee liability issues. 
  • Extensive knowledge lender and servicer license requirements.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ regulatory compliance experience in a mortgage-related field; exposure to secondary mortgage market is preferred but not required.
  • Successful track record in a regulatory compliance setting.
  • Demonstrated professionalism with strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment utilizing multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate technical regulatory information in a non-technical manner.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required build reports, summaries, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of ComplianceEase is preferred but not required.
