Job Summary

Allonhill is seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance to support Allonhill’s due diligence business unit. The Director will provide regulatory compliance expertise and guidance on mortgage loans being reviewed by Allonhill. The Director will be responsible for interpreting rules and regulations applicable to mortgage lending, including laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local level. The Director will supervise a team of regulatory compliance specialists that is expected to experience significant growth. The Director will be responsible for staying abreast of changes in the regulatory compliance area and ensuring that Allonhill staff is aware of relevant changes. The Director will also interact with Allonhill clients in connection with regulatory compliance issues identified by Allonhill.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Allonhill executive management to develop and maintain Allonhill’s regulatory compliance strategy, including the review and interpretation of real estate lending laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other Allonhill business units to ensure effective resolution of compliance issues, including an evaluation of the nature of compliance violations and strategies for mitigating issues.
  • Implement process improvements related to compliance reviews performed by Allonhill
  • Supervise regulatory compliance specialists
  • Develop and implement improved quality control processes surrounding the regulatory compliance analysis function at Allonhill.
  • Oversee the development of compliance-related resources to support Allonhill’s due diligence and credit risk management business units.
  • Work with Human Resources and Allonhill’s Training Director to develop an effective compliance training program, including introductory training for new employees and advanced subject-specific training for seasoned staff.
  • Lead Allonhill’s effort to establish itself as the industry-leading authority for compliance-related issues
  • Maintain and manage relationships with Allonhill’s compliance-related vendors and attorneys.
  • Prepare reports for Allonhill executive management on compliance activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive experience in a regulatory compliance environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local mortgage laws and regulations, including predatory lending laws
  • Past experience with secondary mortgage market transactions
  • Previous experience in a quality control role is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work autonomously and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and self-motivation.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum combination of 5 years of directly applicable regulatory compliance experience.
  • Progressive management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of providing exceptional client service and the ability to interact with executive management both internally and at clients
